I love to have sunny skies on my holidays. One would say it’s impossible to predict the weather months in advance, but meteorology is my passion and I have my historical data.

Flights are cheaper in off-season and the reason is that there are not so many tourists, and the weather is usually bad. Even in the off-season, there’s still good weather. You just have to happen to be there on those sunny days. And there are always ways you can help this happen. Here’s a great hack to increase your chances for good weather on your vacation.

I love good weather historic data presented clearly in an aesthetic way.

Here are my top three go to websites when I plan for good weather for my holiday:

The weather calendar from wunderground.com

I love this because you can choose the year and the month you want to check and it shows as a calendar with the temperature precipitation and more. I check the same month for different years and try to take a guess and hope that the history will repeat again.

The amazing historic meteograms from meteoblue

This is a great Swiss weather company. You can check the history of Weather for the current and last year for free. It is displayed as meteograms. These are nice graphics that show you the estimated simulated temperature, the rain and the wind. What I love about this is that you can see how it usually rains, and which part of the month happened the most.

Keep in mind that the historic meteogram are just a simulation of the potential indicators and not the historic readings. This is because there is no historic data for all locations in the world.

On their website, there is also information about ski resorts, the depth of the snow layer in mountain resorts and sea temperatures.

The comprehensive, clean and clear Historical Weather & Weather archive from meteocentre

Presented with the diagram bars, you get the information you need very clearly in a snapshot.

A worth mentioning other amazing resource to plan for your trip in regards to the weather is the timeanddate.com climate averages. They are presented in nice and clear, colored bar graphics.

Give these a try and see what works best for you. The city I used is London, feel free to change it with the one of your interest.

Thanks for reading and I wish you sunny skies and memorable getaways! Like this article for good weather luck! :)
